Pinterest

Hi there. I am 100%, absolutely, completely addicted to Pinterest. Do you pin? I have only been on it for a little over 24 hours now, but it has completely changed my life. Okay, maybe that's a little overdramatic, but I reallyreally like it and haven't done much else since signing up. It is basically a way to organize and 'pin' the things that you see all over the internet that you love and view what other people have pinned. -

Like this photo display I am going to make for my bare bedroom walls:

and these shoes that I must.have.

Pinterest: a very inspiring and a surefire way to procastinate away your whole day. try it. Have Fun.

Thankful Sunday

I am kinda whiny by nature... I know, your gasping, grabbing onto the wall to steady yourself. You can't believe it, you won't believe it!

Believe it - it's true.

It is very easy for me to look at my life and point out the things I want/don't have/reallyreallywant,canI?pleasepleaseplease!

But I actually have ALOT of awesomeness in my life and mucho to be thankful for. I don't think I take time to reflect/brood over/dwell on the many staggering, mind-boggling things I do have.

On to the list... [I've told you how much I like making lists, right?... No? Oh, well I have this thing with lists and how I just have to make them. allthetime. about everything.]

Things I have that I am going to start taking the time to appreciate:

~an apartment that I really like (minus the gigantic spider from this morning)- NO! no complaining

~a job that can be extremely stressful [always], but pays the bills, keeps me challenged [always], and can be rewarding [occasionally]

but what I re-heally want to focus on here are the incredible
~PEOPLE that I have in my life. It is staggering, really, all of the wonderful friends and family that I am so blessed to have, and live near, and laugh with...

~and my charming husband [who, I am ashamed to admit, I criticize more than I celebrate] - Working on that.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself - this picture makes me smile every time I look at it. It's from our trip to Chicago last weekend-yet another thing to be thankful for! We had a blast, but I will have to tell you about that another time.

Well, that was actually a pretty short list [and in no way is it a complete list of all of the things I have to be thankful for, just the one's that I was reminded of today].

It's back to work tomorrow [think happy thoughts]. My goal for the next 8 weeks is to be more positive (in general-but when it comes to work is where I struggle with this the most.) Stop waiting for Friday. Celebrate now.

What are you thankful for today?

Stuck in the House... Again!

Well, winter has struck again. Probably won't be leaving the house for a while [because I don't want to kill myself or anyone else in a slippery car accident]. So I thought today would be the perfect day to share some snowman humor with you guys. A friend shared these with me last year, and I have no idea where they came from, but they are cute!

Hope that made you smile! :)

ICE DAYS

It’s Friday! …and I have had four days in a row off of work due to ice! (I believe that is a record for Decatur)

Tuesday, day one, I didn't get a whole lot done except a LOT of Grey's Anatomy watching and couch cuddling [highly recommended].

I did design a printable for my hallway / entry way to hang up with my family photos… more on that later..

Tom was under the weather since Sunday night, and it got pretty bad by Wednesday so he ventured out into the elements to get some medical attention for his abdominal pain. While he was at the *useless* prompt care, Morgan and I ate at Chick-fli-a and then went to Target. Being stuck in the house because of all the ice - even for just a few days - made me want to spend more time/energy decorating it. I got a new coffee table, entry way bench, and decorative baskets.

After coming home from the prompt care and feeling worse and worse by the minute… Tom decided he needed to go to the ER so we spent the rest of the evening there… :/
He is doing much better today, thank goodness.

Today, I edited a few family pictures with Picnik and printed them off to put in the frames I got from my mom for Christmas (thanks mom!). –pictures of that later. I was also feeling inspired by a project I saw on a blog that I love, I Am Momma - Hear Me Roar. I went out to the Dollar Tree and stocked up on the little mirrors. I hope to finish the project tomorrow – I will keep you updated on that!

Okay, well, that's quite an update on this week.... I realize this is the first time I have posted since this summer, but I am hoping to do it more often. Sorry.
Happy Snow Days :D

OH - and I changed the banner at the top of my blog... what do you think?

35 days, what?!

I walked out of the school building 35 days ago [can that be right?!] with so many plans for all that I was going to accomplish with my summer off. Tomorrow is July, and my summer, along with all of its supposed-to-be accomplishments, is slipping away right before my eyes. Not to say that my summer thus far has been a complete failure… I finished my first grad class [with an A, thank you very much] and have started the next. But other than that, I’m not sure what I have been doing. Maybe I should redefine my wishes for the remaining 32 days of my summer break:

1. Start that stack of books I’ve been meaning to read
2. Clean my apartment and finish unpacking/decorating [we moved in November!]
3. Go on a short road trip/camping with Thomas
4. Cook more [less frozen pizza]
5. Take more pictures
6. Get really good at DDR [a recent addition to the list] – and by ‘really good’ I mean ‘better than Morgan’
7. Clean off my desk
8. Spend time with family and friends
9. Exercise [just once!]
10. Play outside more
and start a blog [check one off for me :)].
